Quantification of Soil Sensitivity to Water Erosion by the RUSLE Model in the Oued Amter Watershed, Northwestern Morocco

The present study aims to estimate the soil losses in watershed of Oued Amter extends length internal Rifain domain, located region Tangier-Tetouan-Al Houceima, Chefchaouen province north-western Morocco. spatialization empirical model was based on integration five factors Geographic Information System, namely, rainfall erosivity, erodibility, vegetation cover, topography and anti-erosion practices, whose superposition allowed elaboration quantitative map at scale. covers an area 300 km2 ; it is elongated with altitude ranging from 0 m 2100 north south a slope that varies 58.58%. climatic stations near has shown irregularity time space. erosivity factor R presented values 1637.09 1937.61, average 1787.35 Mj.mm/ha. h. (Millijoule. Millimeters/hectare. Hour. Year). erodibility K presents 0.139 0.140 showed soils little evolved Vertisols are most vulnerable erosion.
